Cranberry Mountain Wildlife Management Area has an assortment of game species including white-tailed deer, cottontail rabbit, gray squirrel, fox, raccoon, and opossum on 1085 acres. The Putnam Federation also stocks pheasant a few times during the season. It's located in the Town of Patterson.
Great Swamp Wildlife Management Area has hunting opportunities at the WMA that include native small game species, waterfowl, and white-tailed deer. In addition, DEC stocks pheasants in the upland area off of Cornwall Hill Road in town of Patterson. The Putnam Federation also stocks Pheasant a few times during the season. This 444-acre WMA is part of the Great Swamp, a 19.8-mile long, 4,202-acre wetland of state significance and an important stopover for migrating waterfowl.

White Pond Multiple Use Area Various game species and furbearers found on the unit include white tail deer, pheasant, turkey, waterfowl, rabbit and squirrel. The 263-acre White Pond Multiple Use Area (MUA) includes the 129-acre White Pond. It's located in the town of Kent.
Big Buck Mountain Multiple Use Area Hunting is allowed during appropriate seasons. Various game species and furbearers found on the unit include white tail deer, pheasant, turkey, waterfowl, rabbits and squirrels. It's 146 acres are located in the towns of Southeast and Patterson.
Nimham Mountain Multiple Use Area Various game species and furbearers found on the unit include white tail deer, pheasant, turkey, waterfowl, rabbit and squirrel. It's 1054 acres are located in the town of Kent.
California Hill State Forest Hunting is allowed during appropriate seasons. Various game species and furbearers found on the unit include white tail deer, pheasant, turkey, waterfowl, rabbit and squirrel. The 982-acre California Hill State Forest includes the 94-acre Waywayanda Lake. It's located in the Towns of Kent and Putnam Valley.
